January 23, 2024 Program Night – Importance of Composition & Lighting for Great Photos
The first 2024 Program will be on Tuesday, January 23rd. The meeting begins at 7:00pm for 1/2 hour social time allowing members to catch up. The program is being presented by Ms. Robyn Bright. She has been teaching both beginner and intermediate photography, introductory photoshop and running workshops since 2002. Her photos have been shown in many local galleries and published in pet industry magazines, advertisements and on product labels. TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY VIA THE MTA WATER TAXI JUNE 2024
Weather did NOT permit us to go on this trip on Saturday May 18th 2024. Therefore, Candlewood Camera Club will be making a trip to New York City via the MTA Water Taxi. Information is: Starting in the Bronx at Ferry Point Park (Exit 18 on I687). This is the last exit before the Whitestone Bridge. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the boat ramp. We would like to embark on the 11:03 AM boat, from the Soundview dock and transfer at East 90th Street to the Astoria Route. For the return trip, use the Soundview dock. Tickets for the water taxi are $4.00 dollars one way. We are working on the rain date yet. But wanted to get this in front of you again.

GREEN CORN FESTIVAL Sunday, August 11th 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Hollow Park, 43 Hollow Road, Woodbury, CT Corn is an integral part of the annual life cycle of Native American people. When the first tender ears are ripe for picking it is cause for celebration. Welcome the first corn of the season with exciting activities including drumming, dancing, children’s activities, flute music by Allan Madahbee (Ojibwe), vendors, stories and more! We are excited to welcome the Native Nations Dance Troupe led by Erin Lamb Meeches (Schaghticoke). While enjoying the dancing and activities, get some refreshments from one of our various food vendors. Please note, this event is held rain or shine. Cash recommended for on-site purchases.
