On September 27th the Candlewood Camera Club will host Laurie Klein as our Speaker. Laurie’s program is titled “Beyond Creativity on to Never-Never Land”

Her program is focused on expanding how you see with your mind; looking at subjects, making compelling photographs that lie under the surface of casual observation. She will share her mental and physical processes illustrated with examples from her work as well as results from students she has taught.

We are certain it will be an enjoyable and useful program. We hope to see you there. If you have questions email dennis@dennisyates.com. Meetings are free and open to everyone. They are held in the Banquet Hall at Hatter's Park Hall located at 7 East Hayestown Road, Danbury CT. Drive on East Hayestown road to the Hatters Park Duckpin facility. The meeting room is attached on the right. Our meetings start at 7:30 PM. We hope to see you there!

About Laurie (www.laurieklein.com):

She is known today as both a successful photographer with a signature style, and an instructor of healing workshops that celebrate people by helping them re-discover their core purpose, strengths, passions and joys.

Her lifelong commitment to the art of photography began 41 years ago in high school. "I didn't really discover my passion, my passion discovered me." Laurie said. Turning from just taking pretty pictures, Laurie sought to perfect her craft by attending the photography program at R.I.T. and then getting her M.F.A. from Ohio University. Later, Ansel Adams became one of her heroes and mentors. He taught her that discovering her own artistic voice was the gateway to becoming a fine artist.

"Her style is unique, combining a wonderful ability for composition and a sensitivity to her subjects that will carry her to the top of her field. I can't teach the way she sees and feels!" - Ansel Adams

Today, she is recognized mostly for her signature infrared photography. Her work is held in private collections and museums. She is sought after for her exclusive commissions and extraordinary creativity workshops. Laurie's unique way of using infrared photography, and the caring, personal way she captured her subject's innermost emotions almost always became a transformational experience for both photographer and client. Today, she calls that "The Laurie Klein Experience." As time went on, she added to her shoots, the wisdom, ritual and spirituality that only 30 years experience can gather.

As for the future, I am so grateful to have the life I do. I wake up every day and spend a little sacred time communing with my mother Source, Goddess in all her guises, asking for her help to empower, heal and guide others with my gifts."

Re: Help Portrait
I would like to participate in Help Portrait. How can I help? I could be available for 3 or 4 hours.

Please let me know what I need to do.
Re: Thank you, Tom!
Yes - you are free to join the club at any time that you like. You don't have to join at the first meeting. There are no prerequisites to joining other than having an interest in photography. See the events page for our upcoming meetings (next one is September 13). If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at president@candlewoodcamera.org. Also, you can let me know what sort of problem you are having with the web site and I'll pass it along to the developer. Thanks,Gerard Bianchi
Re: Thank you, Tom!
I'm thinking about joining the club, but couldn't make it to the meeting tonight. Will I be able to join at a later point? Also, is having a DSLR camera a basic prerequisite to joining the club? Thanks!

(BTW, the web site does not display properly on my PC using IE 8)
